Maths Methods Video Tutorials

Designed for Queensland students starting year 11 in term 4 of 2024 or term 1 of 2025. New videos are uploaded each week.

Maths content in years 10-to-12 gets delivered so quickly that it can be hard to keep up. In addition, the length of time that it takes to solve each questions gets longer, the amount of practice on each topic becomes less, and the misconceptions pile up. If your child was doing fine in maths until year 10 and then their grades and confidence started to drop, then you have come to the right place.

It's true that every student has their specific misconceptions, and can benefit from 1-on-1 tutoring. However, a large part of those misconceptions can be fixed by just going over the content a little longer and with a few additional practice questions. Within these video tutorials I go over the content that students should have already seen in class, but I add some additional background information that is assumed knowledge from year 10, such as algebra techniques. I also try to extend the content beyond what is seen in most classes to include complex familiar and complex unfamiliar questions, where students can really practice their critical thinking.

These videos are designed to provide students with an additional 25% of the QCAA recommended teaching and learning time.
